On this page will be period photos from
the 80's showing Recce Platoon elements while on exercise in Germany and the UK.

Note the hessian (burlap) rolled on the front and sides of the Rover, it would
be unrolled to hide
the shadow that would be under the vehicle when in a stationary location.
