Website updates: Sunday 6 January 2008, have updated the 2008 event schedule. We are a reenacting group based in the mid-Atlantic region of the USA. The platoon is now looking into broadening its impression to cover a period of time from the early 70's through the current time period. The purpose of this unit is to draw together individuals with a desire to learn about modern history and have a desire to collect uniforms and equipment pertinent to British Airborne Forces duties and missions. Members will take part in air shows, and stand alone time line events. We will strive to maintain a strong knowledge base so as to better educate the general public on not only this units mission(s), but also the turbulent times of the Cold War, and beyond. Now we are proudly associated with the Forces 80 reenacting group based in the UK.
Our MissionOur intent is to display to the general public the aspects of not only members of The Parachute Regiment, but also the reserve component, the Territorial Army (TA), which is comparable to the USA's Army Reserve and Army National Guard in both both commitment and capabilities.
Who we areWe are a group of reenactors with an interest in the Cold War, and in the specific elements that 10 Para (V) provided in the immediate build up and reinforcement to the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR). We do this by physical interpretation at living history events where we come into direct public contact, and at which we answer questions and give practical displays of training and tactics specific to our role as a Reconnaissance (RECCE) Platoon (PLN).
